Well, the chart I looked at went from 2 to 12. However, I can't tell if
all are automotive applications and I didn't look at the date. 6 may be
the coldest Bosch for autos - I'm sure you have the current automotive
chart.
My point was intended to emphasize that straying from OEM specs is not
wise - especially for operating temp of spark plugs which has nothing
to do with the amount of spark. Operating temp as you point out is
primarily about keeping the plug clean without damage to the plug or
the engine. The HR6 has done an excellent job. The B28F (or versions
thereof) had a zillion miles on it before it was stuck in the DeLorean -
I have never read about spark plug operating temps being an issue.
I guess if you modify a DeLorean engine much you will have to go to a
manufacturer other than Bosch when you need a plug with a cooler
operating temp.
As far Nology goes, I was interested in the whole Nology technology
that Stephen Wynne had Nology develop for the DeLorean. Controlled
spark intensity at the higher RPMs appears to work - and it is more
than just wires. I have noticed a BIG difference.
Maybe I can get some times at the drag strip during the DMA fall
foliage tour and we can compare to a stock DMC automatic or someone who
has your set up. I haven't seen what your setup can do yet.
