I agree with David. I tried a distributor from a Volvo B27F and it was
as Bill stated, two equal weights with springs on both. The result was
more torque because of the slower mechanical advance. I didn't have to
down shift as soon but the overall performance dropped. The original
single spring configuration results in an engine that reves more
freely. I'd like to know the difference in the advance scale of the
B28E distributor which is the Euro spec one. I know Martin others have
done performance upgrades in England using that distributor along with
other Euro spec modifications.
