eremhcel,
If that is the case, try blowing out the fuel lines(with compressed
air) UPSTREAM of the fuel filter,BEFORE replacing the fuel pump.
Disconnect the Fuel Line, from the fuel filter,on the inlet side and
see if you have pressure,if you do your fuel pump is fine, then the
chances are you have a blockage or something, such as a piece of
Teflon tape,somewhere
upstream of the fuel filter, and you must do as above. Also check the
fuel Dist.to make sure no stray pieces got in there, otherwise you may
have to clean/possible replace the fuel distributor..
NEVER EVER put excess Teflon tape on the thread joints, only put it on
the thread part, and then NOT on FUEL LINES,as the fuel could actually
cause the Teflon tape to disingrate,(any part of the Teflon exposed
to the fuel)and cause parts of the tape to flow with the fuel, causing
a partial or FULL blockage, somewhere in all that spaghetti of DMC
fuel lines.....In other words you are/maybe *screwed* ...you may get
it all out..but then you may not.You may be cruising along just
fine, when that *one* missed piece(upstream of the fuel filter) in the
fuel system, starts acting up,and blocks off your fuel flow or causes
you grief while driving.
Hope this helps...Hope other DML'ers learn something from all
this...DO NOT use PLUMBERS Teflon (the white stuff) tape on fuel
lines...Period...
