Actually Ryan,when the door is open,the torsion bar is NOT under
load,so the chances of getting zinged by a piece of the torsion bar is
rather slim,that is why you always hear of torsion bars snapping with
the doors closed(thank goodness for that!!not that a snapping torsion
bar is good,but it is automatically self contained)As that is when the
torsion bars are under full load.
