Hi
The Torsion bar materials are Stainless Steel ASTI 304 or ASTI 301, after
it is welded you
may benefit from having the torsion bar hardened by precipitation hardening.
They should
adopt the original temperatures and timings when the bar was originally
manufactured,
having been torsioned in the cryo tank.

Subject: [DML] Broken torsion bar
I found a welding company in my area that does high tech jobs for the
military. They have a special process using titanium welding. The owner
was quite interested in doing the repair on a Delorean, he has started
to do some research to see if he can find what metal compound is used
in these bars. I have an appointment with him tomorrow. If anyone has
any information on the metal used, please let me know so I can pass it
on. I think I have found the correct company for the job.
