It's possible that, depending on the supplier, you may have gotten some
struts that, even if new, have been sitting around long enough that they
don't have the required strength.   This happened to me with on some struts
I had installed once.   Tried a different supplier and the problem was
solved.

How did they work before the "new" struts? How old were the old struts?
