Hi,
Actually every year they add dye and they can never find any leaks later.
It doesn't leave any traces apparently.
I plan on rebuilding the entire A/C in a year or two, but I just need to get
through the summer. That's why I was wondering where I am sitting, short of
replacing everything due to age.

Your main problem is that you system needs freon every spring, so it has
a leak - you need to put in a UV dye/indicator (included in some Freons)
and use a kit to find the leak(s), or take it to a shop that has a
sniffer. Once the leaks are repaired, then you can worry about
pressures and capacities.
