Marc, since this award is NOT "best in show", it isn't being called
that. This award will only go to the highest scoring car in
the "Certified Stainless" group... hence, my "best of the best"
reference. If none of the cars place in the "Certified Stainless"
tier, no one will get this award.

Yep, so is my Yellow D... but that's not what this is about. This is
about a different category of cars other than yours and mine.

Thank you.

That's why we have called the award the "JZD Excellence in Marque"
award, not the "best of anything" award. If the D community decides to
use the "Certifications" and "JZD Excellence in Marque" awards as
guidelines for value, than so be it. At least we have some guidelines
for somebody wanting to buy or sell this type of show car.

When you elect to enter the DeLorean Millennium Concours, the outcome
is now in the eyes of the judges following a DeLorean specific
guideline. This is how car shows work.
Value is only what a buyer is willing to pay and an owner is willing to
except. I think it is a good thing if our marque has a Concours and
there is at least some guideline to help buyers and sellers establish a
value.
What's really difficult to do is put a value on custom Ds like yours,
mine, and many others. In my eyes, my custom D will bring more money
than my wife's Concours D... but only if I find a buyer that REALLY
wants my car and is willing to pay the price.
All this said, I would really like to see all of the people out there
that are considering giving the Concours a try, to do it. Even though
I am a custom car guy, the experience I had with my wife helping her in
the 2001 Concours had to be one of the coolest things I've ever done
with a show car.
The spirit of the DeLorean Concours is awesome and with the new
certification tiers and "JZD Excellence in Marque" award it's just
going to get better.
Ron
