I read earlier this week on another forum that if you try to start a car with a super-dead battery, sometimes there is just enough juice to get the solenoid to move, but it won't disengage all the way. The result is a burned-up wiring harness and starter. I don't know if this could happen in a DeLorean, since I read this in an auto-maintenance/general newsgroup. Seems possible though if you haven't had any problems until now. The starter may have burned up. It's not too hard to remove and there are a lot of old-timers out there who can rebuild it.

Absolutely Nothing? No clicks or groans or smoke? Strange. Start by
making sure the starter wiring modification has been done. What's the
VIN? Then get a test light and a helper. Go to the red and white wire
on the solenoid at the starter and tell your lieutenant to start the
car. If the wire goes hot, you need a starter. If not, chase it back.
The next place is the relay.
