RE: [DML] H2O Pump?

How long, pray tell, does a replaced water pump last? I replaced mine the 
Fall of '96, ~7,000 mi. ago, and am noticing some coolant loss. Not much, 
just enough to be noticed. I now siphon out the header bottle when I return 
from driving to prevent oozing, and the last time got out less then I put 
in. The "ooze" seems to be around the hoses on top of the pump. Snugging the 
clamps a bit didn't appear to help much. Appears to be a short life for a 
$200+ part.  Ideas?      Thanks.     Drive Stainless    Robert VIN 6924
