Andy,
On a day I had a half hour to kill I went to a NAPA store and went
thru their manual that had all the measurements and cross references.
I looked at the gasket diameter & thickness, outside diameter, etc. and
decided to try a K & N filter which matches the Purflux dimensions and
seems to be of high quality.
As others have mentioned, having a quality filter is particularly
critical on the B28F engines because of the likelihood of a very small
bit of debris getting into and clogging the rocker arm oiling port and
ultimately trashing the cam.
