You loosen the locknuts on the quadrant link that lock the ball ends.
You have to do both. One is left-handed and one is right-handed. Now
turn the link just like a turnbuckle to shorten it. Once you get it to
the length you want you then retighten both locknuts remembering one
is left-handed and one is right-handed. A shot-cut is to remove the
clip in the ball end that attaches to the throttle spool and unsnap
the ball end from the ball. Unlock the one locknut and try 1 turn
shorter. That generally will work. Be careful with that tiny clip! A
drop of oil on the ball ends can't hurt either.
