The vane in your idle motor may be sticking. Pull the idle motor and
you should be able to move the vane easily. A little carb cleaner may
help. You may also have play (lost motion) in the ball ends of the
quadrant link. Easy to check. Move the throttle spool and watch the
throttle arm. Another possability is a failing idle ECU or bad
connections between it and the thermistor. Tap the gas pedal, does the
idle come down to normal?
