Hey Tom,  Todd makes a very good point.  I'll try to make a helpful point.

DMCH/Steve could certainly license the logo to you for your specific
application without jeopardizing their legal standing.

If you offered him $5M to use the logo, he'd fly over to give you the
official artwork on a disk, and bring you free seat covers to boot. 
If he licensed it to you for $.01 in perpetuity, You'd send him a
lovely shifter ball as a thanks.

Obviously, neither amount is very realistic, but in the spirit of
community it wouldn't hurt anyone to look for some middle ground.
