Hi
In my opinion 220 and higher is way too much. Even with the A/C on in hot
weather the temperature should not reach 220. My first DeLorean was an auto
(runs hotter because of trans cooler and higher rpm for given speed) has
never got even close to 220 all in hot Florida. It usually stayed around the
quarter mark and only rose to just below 220 when stopped. Then the cooling
fans switched on and the temperature dropped down.
It wasn't like that at first. It was running closer to 220 all the time
until I replaced the radiator. I installed an brand new OEM radiator and
never worried about overheating again. My current car is starting to develop
the same problem and I guess I will look into getting a new radiator soon.
Maybe you should change yours as well since everything else is good. This is
cheap insurance...
Good luck
