Hello.
As MtBE is phased out and ethanol is phased in:
Our engines will lose a little power, not enough to notice.
Our fuel systems will be more likely to suffer water contamination
during long storage.
More modern materials will be needed to withstand degradation by the
ethanol.
Our fuel systems will cause much less cancer.
The fuel will degrade faster. Ethanol is probably a little more
biodegradable into water than MtBE. Only people who store their cars
for long periods will notice.
I thought MtBE was already phased out.
Rick.
