Most electrical problems are best fixed by using a voltmeter or a test
light. You really have to have *some* basic test equipment to properly
diagnose electrical problems. You don't have to spend a fortune, you
can get a cheap meter in Radio Shack. The other VERY important thing
you will need is a wiring diagrahm. With these things you can "follow
the electric" and see where it is stopping. I can point out many of
the more common problems but often it can be something unusual that
was messed up by a previous owner or his mechanic. If you really know
nothing about automotive electrical systems there are many good books
on the subject.
