You could just flip the inertia switch into the disable position, then the
fuel pump wouldn't run. You may want to use some fogging oil or at the very
least turn the engine by hand if it hasn't been run in a decade. You could do
more damage turning the key than 10 years of sitting already did to the car!
Besides, what would turning over the engine tell you if you don't have the
fuel system going to? Not a lot except that the starting system works.
