I have been told that using a new hacksaw blade and cutting the
latching loop on the hood is a way to get in. You have to protect
the windshield and have patience (sounds like you have that for
sure). You will probably have to cut both front and back parts of
the loop. It may be worth a try. The seal will probably be damaged
too - but an easy fix.
