this could potentially explain both of my problems right?:
1) engine fires up and dies immediately taking several attempts

2) Engine will not accellerate once it is running, if the throttle is

It must seem like my car is a real basket case but it really isn't,
or thats what I keep telling my wife! :0)

Nathan,
Did you get a fuel pressure tester like was suggested a while back? This
could help you identify any pressure problems. OR just remove the distributor
(it is probably on there pretty tight) and check the plunger yourself. Be
careful lifting the distributor off the metering housing. The plunger will just
fall right out (if it is ok). Also plan on replacing the O-ring underneath
it if you do this too.
See? you'll see the rule of 20 in no time!!
