Pick up a feeler gauge and check valve clearances. Easiest way to do it is
to align the engine at TDC for #1. Remove the muffler and use a 35 MM
Socket to turn the crankshaft. If clearances are okay than check into a new
set of exhaust gaskets. I hear the SS ones at Special T Auto are real nice.
