[DML] Use teflon thread tape on high-pressure AC hose fittings?

Over the eons, I finally rubbed a hole in my high-pressure AC hose
where it was rubbing against the handbrake cable.
In replacing the hose, are the fittings where they attach to the
condenser and compressor tightened up dry or is the use of teflon
thread tape (or other fitting conditioner) recommended?
