[DML] DMCH, DCS, Gullwing and the rest of the story

Hi all 
This subject comes up all the time and in making a magazine we found out  
that we actually had a lot to offer technically since I had refurbished 5  
DeLoreans last year.
That followed with tons of tech stuff so why not. And it seems to be  working
 
Anyway regardless of magazine, Mine, Gullwing, DeLoreans or DW the bottom  
line is that there is something for everyone.  I Started mine not knowing  
Gullwing was going to happen until I had made my invesments.
 
I was content to use DW (Then DeLorean World) but when I got  Banned from DW 
I had to do something for advertising. 
 
And rather than sugar coat it here is what happened (condensed  version)
 
It was John Truscot that informed me of the ban ( John and I are friends  and 
I appreciated him telling me) I am banned because of tax  purposes.  We had 
to be a club and they considered me THEN  competition. (John saw my form at the 
Memphis show and brought that  information back to the DOA (Why then and not 
before I Have  no idea. ))
 
Recent conversations with Sasha resulted in the same result as he wanted to  
know my Agenda and we had a great conversation and it boiled down to  me being 
considered competition.  I do not see it that way but I need  to advertise 
the show to give you all the best show possible and to reach new  people.  ( I 
still offer to advertise for DOA if they wish)
 
The DOA dissolved the chapters in hope of the Chapters and such doing their  
own thing 
I did but THAT was not what they had in mind.
 
I wrote a letter to one of the members and received NO response so, 
 
Bottom line if I had not been banned there would have been no DCS 
So thank you DOA.  (PS I attend DOA events and enjoy what they do so  this is 
not intended to be a DOA bash but it is the reason we started  DCS magazine)
 
DCS gives me a chance to  highlight the owners and let you do the  articles.  
As you know we look for articles from owners so here is a plug  to submit 
your articles.
 
The Car Show needed exposure
 
The new magazine has done that.  New owners seem to find the web  page or 
Hemmings and we are doing well. 
 
The Car Show benefits by getting exposure and I think it worked. Look at  PF. 
 And we keep getting new people so that works.
 
All of these magazines are done for various reasons.  DeLoreans seems  to be 
the one to be picked on in this round.  But keep in mind it offers  different 
information than mine or Gullwing.
 
DCS and Gullwing are very similar I believe.  There is more tech stuff  in 
Gullwing and its more frequent than DCS  4 issues a year vs 2, I enjoy  Gullwing 
and I believe Ron likes DCS. I use the magazine to promote not only the  show 
but I try to highlight our members in Europe and abroad (Down Under).   I 
think this is a part of our community that needs more coverage and the stuff  
they come up with is great.  Our next cover comes from Europe again.
So while similar it is somewhat different.  And Ron and I try not to  
duplicate articles althought from time to time I am sure we will miss  something,  
 
DeLoreans Promote DMCH with tech articles and show info. 
 
Its a very simple choice.  
 
There are four magazines ( and various newsletters)
Go with the one that suites you best and if you have money left over pick  up 
another one or two.
Your subscription from me goes to support the magazine and hopefully one  day 
help support the show.
 
So rather than tear down magazines enjoy the ones you like.  Its not  easy 
and its a lot of work.  This is a great time for DeLorean owners since  you have 
soo much to choose from.
 
I'll keep doing it as long as you all keep buying them.  And thanks  for 
making this year a big success.
 
DCS is here to stay. PERIOD.   :-
