No, It just takes the load off the switch, If it's shorted and burning out
the bulb, then he either has the wrong bulb ( 5 volts  ) or a direct short
to ground.

John,

in this discussion of light switches, I saw someting
(was it Bill?) about the light in the switch NOT being
fused.  Does your kit address the problem of no fuse??
 or is it just to take the high amperage load off of
the switch?
