My experience exactly.  They're great for show, but didn't hold up to my 
  actually driving the car.
(I considered collecting the hairballs and trying to glue a wad onto the 
bald spot!)
Perhaps someone will invent a 'spray on carpet filler' to hide the bald 
spots. . . :)
