Well I've seen a right-hander with a prototype door that's 1/2" wider than the other,
resulting in a big gap where the roof meets the quarter panel.
My early car has the opposite problem: both doors are too long - only by a fraction, but
they both bang on the ends of the striker pins quite badly, unless the door is shut
really carefully. I've seen one car where the end of the striker has been cut off to
remedy the problem of the latch banging, it's of a similar age to mine.
Chris Nicholson is making me a set of stainless striker pins that are 2mm shorter than
stock.
