Hello.

Unless I'm missing some piece of information, I don't believe there's 
any ambiguity about the ownership of the body dies. That fisherman 
bought them as scrap in the eighties, so the dies therefore belong to 
him. 

If someone buys and fishes up these dies for reuse, and the surface 
damage is less than one weld bead deep, I'd happily volunteer to 
resurface the two left front fender dies at least. If the new owner 
and I can come to terms, I'll donate the shield gas, welding wire, 
weld and grind time. It'd be the most off-the-wall thing I ever 
restored. 

I'm optimistic about their condition. They probably landed face down.
