this is the email i got from the seller

"This car was one of the 28 "Pilot Cars" built in 1980 during the time the
factory was being built. Only three of them are left, this is #20. There are
some differences from the production cars. You are right about the pull
straps, these are the later door panels with the built in straps. There is a
gas flap in the hood, possibly it does show up in the photo well."
