Sunstar BTTF extra part

Hi guys, first post here,

I recently bought the Sunstar BTTF model from a local hobby store, and
opened it yesterday to find an extra piece rattling around the passenger
side inside. It's a five sided rectangular piece about 1/2" * 1/4" *
1/4", gold on four sides, and black with circuitry-looking formed stuff
on the fifth. The depressed 'top' side 1/4 * 1/2 (if the opening is a
the bottom) has interlaced dashes like: -_-_-_-_- and so forth, making
it look like a grill type thing. It also has two flanges on the long
open sides. I cannot figure out where this was supposed to go. Any
ideas? Also, when screwed to the display stand, the hovercraft
conversion switch is inaccessible. My model's driver's side door won't
stay open, and the screws to take it apart are inaccessible due to the
time machine moldings in the rear. Any ideas?
