Hi all
First off, I sent that post before signing it; apologies! I meant to draw a comparison
with the LockZilla - my mods are electronically nowhere near as good as the Zilla, after
all, it uses the stock Lucas PCB! However the major flaw, the relays, are replaced with
modern sealed units. The projected lifespan of these Siemens units is in excess of
10,000,000 actuations. This is an order of magnitude less than the LockZilla's
solid-state switches, but if you're worried about hitting that 10 millionth actuation and
having to spend a whole £3 on new relays, you're more careful than me! :-)
I've had a couple of e-mails requesting photos. I have taken some and will post them on
the DOC UK site in the Tech section as soon as I get home and can download the pics off
my camera.
If anyone wants me to do the mod to your lock module, drop me an e-mail. I know Dave
Howarth has a supply of "new" units. I can supply one of these, modified, in return for
your existing unit and a donation to the DOC.
I will be adding remote central locking to my unit (mostly becaus my drivers door lock is
bust!) now I trust the module.
Happy new year
Martin
