Paul,
This is a common problem with the fuses and fuse box. The heat is being
caused due to resistance between the fuse connectors and the holder
connectors. You need to correct this or your fuse and the fuse box will
melt. Fuse #7 is a common candidate for this problem.
My suggestion is to replace your fuses with new ones and lightly clean
each connector in the fuse box. Checking your fuse box should become an
annual procedure to avoid electrical problems.
