Here is the information I have for Volvo to DeLorean Idle Speed Motors (Regulator) compatibility

Volvo 1979-1981 260 & 264 GLE
Volvo 1982-1987 760 GLE

The 740 is equipped with a non-PRV four cylinder engine, the 79-81 260 is a perfect match sharing the same Bosch CIS fuel injection with the DeLorean.

I have first hand knowledge on this subject because I previously owned an 80 260 and now own a 89 760 in addition to my 260k mi. DeLorean.

I could be wrong on this, but I think it's the 740 that is the match 
for the DeLorean Idle Speed Motor. The 760 uses a different type of 
motor. The 740 will not be easy to get to, as the ISM is located 
under the intake manifold. Don't even bother looking at the 260 for a 
match. It uses an entirely different type of regulator to control the 
idle with isn't compatable either.
