I've undone nuts and bolts , I've pushed and pulled, rocked and rolled and removed 1 knuckle, But NO that univerasal joint on the steering rack won't "Slide up the pinion enough to release it" as the manual says.

It slides easily up and down just not far enough to get it of. Looking at the slot that the pinch bolt closes theres plenty of space for it to slide. but it just stops dead.

Someone put me out of my frustration
