If you have any mechanical aptitude, try taking your sender unit apart and
fixing it yourself. The seal is rubber and reusable unlike the copper seals
in the rest of the fuel system. Inside the sending unit, usually what
breaks is the wire connecting the switch for the 'low fuel' warning light.
When this wire comes loose from one end, then it tangles with the float to
give inaccurate readings. Also you might want to tighten the sliding
connection at the float. The original sender is cheaply made and prone to
failure. If you want to fix it only once, then get a Tankzilla.
