On the way down, the rubber boot on the handle can snag against the carpet,
causing the handle to lift back up just a bit... enough to trigger the light.
You can adjust the switch, but it made me wonder if I might over adjust and
defeat the purpose of the warning light. So I always just give the boot a
slight clockwise twist as I put the brake lever down, so the leading edge of
the boot points towards the low edge of the carpet where it won't snag,
rather than the high edge on the left, where it will snag. Works for me. :)
