If I am not mistaken, the PRV was a joint effort between Peugeot, Renault, 
and Volvo to build a decent V6 engine that they could all use in their 
respective cars. The development was mostly volvo's effort while the other 
two pitched in. In the end I believe they were all manufactured by Volvo.

I will have to check on this though. I work at a Volvo dealer and they will 
definately know.
