Do not use a contact adhesive. You should use something that while 
holding down the carpet securely you could still peel the carpet off 
in the future just in case. Some glues are so good that the carpet 
will rip to shreds if you try to get it out later. Go to the auto 
supply and get some spray trim adhesive and test it on something 
first. The carpet on the horizontal surface behind the seats dosen't 
get glued down.
