Alternative mirror suggestion

Hi,

Ever since first driving my DeLorean I wondered if it wouldn't be a good idea 
to replace the outside mirrors (not the housing) with 'sphered' ones to 
increase the visibility around the car. I now find the visibility through the 
outside mirrors slightly limited. All cars nowadays are equipped with them 
("objects in mirror are closer than they appear"). I know it is inapropriate 
(blasphemy even) to replace standard parts with new ones, but in the light of 
safety this might be a good idea nonetheless.

I searched the archives and site for a post regarding this but I couldn't find 
any. Has this issue been discussed before? And if yes, are there 'standard' 
replacements available?
