When I was troubleshooting my A/C system, I discovered that the pressure
switch is located on the receiver/dryer "can" in the right-side wheelwell.
If you jump the two prongs in the connector on the wiring harness, it should
fool the compressor into coming on.
However, I would be inclined to take my car elsewhere, since many A/C
systems have a low-pressure cutoff, and most A/C technicians should know
that (and how to deal with it).
