Don't bother! When the DeLorean was in the final stages of development
automobile sound quality was not a serious concern. The rear speakers in the
DeLorean are "free air" mounted; that means they are not coupled to an
enclosure or mounting board, an audio acoustic no-no, especially when it
comes to bass. High quality speakers mounted in the same mounting will only
deliver marginal bass.
It would be wiser to either mount a pair of speakers in the parcel shelf
rear wall or purchase hatchback or truck type box speakers and mount them on
the parcel shelf.
If your not real concerned about bass go ahead and replace the originals.
