To my knowledge, and this may be somewhat wrong, but there were three 
different forms of DeLorean antennas. The first being a stationary trunk 
mounted antenna, I believe in the position you're referring to. The second 
is a power antenna, located in what would be the driver side air vent on the 
rear. The third is a windshield mounted antenna. Hope this helps.
