Not too long ago there was a posting on this list that said the difference between a $15,000 DeLorean and a $20,000 DeLorean is $10,000.
Whoever said that hit the nail on the head.
I think the difference is 15k, myself...
But on the subject of what the cars are worth, everyone has mixed feelings.
If an owner is trying to sell his/her car and the car is in mint condition and has all the upgrades, the ONLY way that individual is going to sell that car for 15k or less is:
1) They need $$$ quick, or otherwise they're going to be wearing concrete shoes.
2) See above.
If you own a DeLorean in great condition, why would you sell it for next to nothing?
Or, let me phrase it this way...
If you own a DeLorean that is valued at or around 25k, why would you sell it for 15k?
The answer:
You wouldn't.
Some people want to spend 10 to 15k on a DeLorean and fix it up themselves. More power to them if that's what they want to do. I wish I could have.
Some people BUY a 10-15k DMC and are told (or they believe) it is in great condition and needs 'very little' work.
They are either:
1) the luckiest SOB's
2) getting taken for a ride before they even sit in the car.
Chances are you will get what you pay for.
I know that DeLoreanOne now sells their refurbished cars for 50k. DMC-Houston sells theirs around 30k.
They are still in business for a reason...
This isn't rocket science.
