[DML] Hot start Voltage problem

Ok, this takes the cake. I will be really impressed if anyone has had the
problem I am now having...
When I start the car cold, I can drive it indefinitely, and the voltage
will stay around 13. If I turn off the ignition for any length of time,
and turn it on while the car is still hot, The voltage drops to nothing,
and the battery light comes on. I have a motorola alternator, which I had
tested by an electrician who said it works perfectly. Please advise me on
where I should start to look for the problem.
