Wayne,
The sound your hearing is most likely the top A/C adjustment idler pulley.
These are known to come off from time to time. It's not that big of a deal
but it sounds horrible before it comes off. To check and make sure, remove
your A/C belt and start it up to see if the sound goes away. Alot of
owners, when this happens, get a shorter belt to compensate for the missing
pulley. I lost mine twice and went that route. However, I finally replaced
it after the overhaul 9 months ago and it was still on there when I took the
engine out.
