the exhaust system on the PRV engine and the heavily baffled silencer box as
fitted by Renualt in the DMC-12 kills the power and chokes the fuel supply by
restricting the flow rate. my car is a euro-specification with the Lotus
designed 3 branch into one manifold on each bank, no catalysts or lambda, and
a free flow transverse mounted silencer box. this enables the fuel flow rate
on the injector head to be increased, and also remove the wax operated air
restrictor system to the air intake and get some ram air through the filter
box. on the rolling road we read at the back wheels 167 bhp.@ 5500 rpm & my
car has the automatic box. I have had 130 mph on the speedo on a race track.
0-60 mph takes 8 seconds. quite a difference from the USA spec: cars!
