Hi,
Since my father happens to own a shotblasting-company I can tell you
from experience that most light-allywheels do NOT look nice when
just shotblasted and clearcoated: most of the times the material is so
soft that the inpacts from the shotblasting stay very visible.
Some thing thats much nicer because its less agressive (less pressure
and a finer material) is like shotblasting, only with little glass "pearls".
I don't know the correct translation, but that is what it basically is.
This is very good on alloy and Stainless Steel so I would recommend
doing this instead of the shotblasting. Clearcoating would still be
neccesary even if it was only for the shine and ease of cleaning it gives:
dirt sticks better on a non-coated rough surface...
Please note that we have no experience on DeLorean-wheels
so the precise effect on that particular alloy is hard to predict.
Hope to have been of some help,
JAN van de Wouw
