Although this probably won't solve your problem, I'd like to recommend the
use of graphite lubricating stuff. They make it specifically for
lubricating locks and other small mechanical devices. WD-40 is not really
a very good oil (it is more solvent than lubricant) and will not hold up
on the long term.
