Kristen,

Intermittent overheating might signal an electrical problem. It could be that one or both cooling fans are not coming on when they are needed. There are a number of components that could be at fault.

The easiest cure would be if the fan control bypass has come loose or blown a fuse. This is in the relay compartment, near the passenger side door. Go to the DMCNews 'zine page:
