I had the same problem. I didn't want to cut the stock harness to put
in the new stereo, but I didn't have a 9-pin plug either. So, I wired
the speakers (which I also changed) with my own wires, just running them
along the stock lines for the front and back. This is really better
than using the stock harness, because the original design shared speaker
wires. One wire is common for both the front and rear speakers on each
side. This goes against most stereo installer rules. Besides that, you
can run thicker wire to the speakers, which beats the stock 20 AWG
stuff. Everything I have done on my car has been "on top" of the stock
system. I just run my modifications along with what's already there,
that keeps things original, and allows me to upgrade certain systems.
Good luck!
