[DML] Re: DMC-12

In a lot of states, the dealership that sold the car new will fill in the
model designation for the title application when the car is purchased by
the first private owner. Probably your state is one of those, and whoever
filled in the paperwork just grabbed part of the VIN to put in that spot on
the title.
